I’m Chinese and we are taught to be humble, which includes not to brag about ourselves. But what the hell, I can do something new as a change.

我是中国人，我们受的教育是要谦卑，其中包括不要自我吹嘘。但管他呢，我要做出点改变。

1.I’m curious. I am 27 and I didn’t have a chance to live outside of China (California) until about 3 years ago. People are amazed by my bilingual ability. I give credit to my curiosity for western society, and my urge to share my native culture.

1.我好奇心强。我27岁，直到3年前才有机会出国生活(加利福尼亚)。人们惊讶于我精通双语的能力，这要归功于我对西方社会的好奇和分享祖国文化的渴望。

2.I’m always smiling when I’m in public. There have been people telling me that whenever they see me, I always have a smile on my face.

3.I’ve been financially independent since I was 18, and I have the amount of saving which most adults at my age would be proud of. I was working various part time jobs in college to gain money, experience and insight. So far, after graduation my jobs have included being a pub waitress, translator, website eva luator, journalist, financial controller.. and the list goes on.

3.从18岁起我就经济独立，而且有大多数同龄人会引以为傲的存款。大学时我就做各种兼职工作来赚钱，积累经验，提高眼力。毕业后到目前为止我做过酒吧服务员、翻译、网站评估员、记者、财务总监，我还在继续挑战自己。

4.I try to improve myself, every single day. I have bad days, days I don’t want to work/exercise/study/simply get out of bed. I make up those days with working extra hard on days when I’m more productive.

4.每一天我都在努力提高自己。我有也不在状态的时候，有些日子不想工作、锻炼、学习甚至不想起床。耽误的工作我都在效率高的时候加倍努力补上。

5.I’m book smart (not sure about street smart though). I can learn pretty much everything pretty well as long as I set my mind to. My high school was the best in the region with an admission rate lower than 2%. Without surprise, I was accepted by a tier 1 university in Shanghai (In China, we have 5 tiers for universities).

5.我有书本智慧(却不太懂街头智慧)。只要我用心什么都能学得很好。我就读的高中是当地的，录取率不到2%。我毫不意外地考入了上海的大学(中国大学分5等)。

6.I’m a diligent listener. I am usually the quiet one in a group and enjoy absorbing ideas and thoughts from different voices.

7.I take care of my body. I exercise regularly. I eat homemade food. I take time to meditate and ensure mental health.

8.I’m frugal and a minimalist, but in the mean time, I keep an eye out for new inventions/trends. Can’t stop being curious.

9.I’m the perfect roommate. I clean. I cook. I am super quiet. I don’t invite friends over unless special occasions. I don’t own much stuff. Oh, I pay rent on time too.

I am sorry that I did not write to you earlier because I have been very busy.

I was helping with a charity show to raise money for Project Green Hope.

我正在为一场慈善演出帮忙，想为绿色希望工程筹款。

A lot of work needed to be finished, so I did not have much free time.

因为有很多工作要完成，所以我没有太多的空余时间。

I felt very happy when I was chosen to be the host. It was exciting, but I was also very nervous because of the TV cameras.

I knew that lots of people would watch the show and that many famous pop stars would come too.

It was my job to introduce each star. I also had many other duties. It was hard work but was happy to do it.

The big day come every quickly, and suddenly it was the night before the charity show.

这盛大的一天来的很快，不知不觉就到了慈善演出的前一天晚上。

I couldn’t sleep at all that night because I was so excited. ‘Will it be a success?’ I kept asking myself.

因为我很兴奋，所以在那天晚上我一点也睡不着。“演出会成功吗?”我一直在问自己。

Twenty minutes before the big event, the doors opened and many people came into the theatre. ‘No time to be nervous any more. This is it,’ I told myself.

在这盛大演出前20分钟，门开了，许多人进入剧场。“没有时间紧张了，就这样了，”我告诉自己。

A lot of people came to watch the show. The fans of the pop stars were making a lot of noise, so I had to speak loudly.

Everything seemed to happen so fast, and now it is all over. A lot of money has been donated to Project Green Hope.

Everyone was very generous and we had a lot of support from local businesses.

I hope more events like this will be organized to raise money for charity and I think more people should be invited to take part in them.
