勇气英文演讲稿1
honorable judges, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:
it is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the english language.
about a year and a half ago, i took part in my very first english speech contest. when i stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, i could hardly speak. i stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. my fears had paralyzed me.
while my passion for english has never changed, i lost my courage to speak in public. when my professor again encouraged me to take part in this competition, i said “no.” i couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. he looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. i will never forget his words. “look,” he said, “we all have our fears, and you have yours. you could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. a winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
i spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. then i made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: i would face my fears –and take part in the competition!
as it turned out, my dear old professor was right. now, here i am, once again standing before a microphone. my heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, i have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

It’s beyond reproach that we will come across all kinds of difficulties and challenges in our life time .Some will be subjected to frequent sadness .Some will lose their way to move on .Thus,only when we equip ourselves with hope and courage can we finally succeed in the uncertain future.
Forrest Gump showed so great courage in the movie that he touched me a lot . For one thing,no matter when and where Jenny got into trouble ,Forrest Gump would bring her out of it without thinking how dangerous the situation would be .Maybe we should all fell ashamed that we love ourselves more than we love love ,but Forrest showed great courage in love .For another,Forrest gump risked his life to save Bubba in the war.It’s courage that helped Forrest gain a series of honor after war .Forrest Gump is beautiful for his perseverance and touches others with his courage.
A person can’t do without courage in terms of love and friendship ,let alone life . A weak person may avoid the difficulties ,but a person with courage will face up to it head-on. Therefore,let’equip ourselves with great courage.

Good morning everyone, it's my pleasure to be here and talk about dreams and ambitions with you. When I was a primary school student I wrote in my composition that I want to be a scientist when I grow up. At that age I didn't know what is a scientist, nor did I know what is dream. I wrote it because it's a standard answer for a composition test. And I know if I wrote that I want to be a peasant I would be criticized and laughed at, no matter what reason I gave it. But now in university, one of my classmates changed my idea. At the career planning class when asked about our dreams, one of my classmates stood up and said, " I want to be a peasant because I grow up in a peasant family and I love it." No laughter, no criticism, he was the only who winned a clapping.
It sets me thinking, which should be a man's dream? a scientist, or a peasant? It's not a simple question and my answer is both. This is exactly my understanding of this topic. Dreams are something we really want and are willing to try every effort to achieve, no matter how great or how small, no matter how others think, it depends on you.
Life is long, and we are just on the starting point. Finally we'll understand life is not just about making a living. There're something much more important than money and material enjoyment, that is spiritual wealth, that is dream. It's the process of your pursuit of dream, the process when you are trying, when you are seeking, when you are struggling, when you failed and restarted again and again with your determination, hardwork, and perseverance that make you, build you, and help you to lead a worthy and significative life, whether you'll achieve your dream or not, the result is not that important.

Ever since humanbeings come into being, we had never stopped the action to put our feet on each inch of land we can find. we fight against nature, at first, for survival. our nation buildup the reservoir for not only preventing flood but also generating electricity. this well proved that we can conquer nature and make it serve us better. secondly, some people taking fighting against nature as a challenge of life, a way to gain honor. the climbing of everest will be an exact instance here. however, nature has never give up trying to give man a lesson now and then. the earthquake of tang shan china in 1976 and the ground sea of india in 2004, nature reminded us of her unconquerable power by unanswerable facts.
now, as you can see, we have the problem, it seems that we have never triumph over nature as nature did to us. when it is hard to draw a conclusion, dialectic is in favor of us. contradictory evidence requires us think about the question dialectic. then we get it. neither man or nature can triumph over each other. if we go our own way shortsightedly, we will finally reap as we have sown: worse crisis of resource, worse pollution of invironment.
so brightly future just depends on a harmonious relationship with nature.
